I add AI, OCR and automation to systems that are already running.

14 years delivering software — six building interactive installations, eight extending an enterprise content-management platform used by banks and insurers. Lately: an AI engine and an OCR capture product, added without a rewrite.

DoctrixAIEngine

An in-process AI engine for a legacy .NET Framework platform: one interface over six LLM providers, cloud or self-hosted, with per-call cost telemetry, monthly budgets per feature, and a verifier that re-checks every extracted field against the source.

Document capture · standalone product

Doctrix Capture Studio

Template OCR with anchor matching. Confidence thresholds per field, per template and per batch decide what is indexed automatically and what waits for a person. Runs inside Doctrix, or with n8n intake and XML output for any other system. Replaced ABBYY and Kodak Capture Pro licences.

Azure architecture for an infrastructure operator

Co-designed with my team for a tender proposal: IIS on VMs, SQL Managed Instance, Azure Files, Application Gateway with WAF, Bastion and Entra ID single sign-on, across three separated environments, with a written architecture pack. Tender outcome pending.

DoctrixInsight (next)

A self-built reporting and alert module to replace a legacy report tool: governed datasets, simple measures, and exceptions pushed into each user's inbox. Shaped by a year as a DOMO reseller.

DOMO, hands-on

Hands-on with DOMO during a year as the company's authorised reseller: datasets, dataflows, Beast Mode measures and alerts.

How I build

Four rules, each from a real decision
01

Suggest, then a person decides

AI results are suggestions. Nothing is saved until someone confirms it.

In practice: AI engine → portal
02

When unsure, say so

A field that can't be found in the source is flagged. A layout nobody recognises goes to a person — never guessed.

In practice: verifier, no-match routing
03

Every call has a price tag

Tokens, latency and cost are logged for each AI call, with a monthly budget per feature.

In practice: per-call telemetry
04

Add to what already runs

The AI went inside the live platform as a library — no rewrite, no new server for clients to run.

In practice: in-process DLL

Fourteen years, two halves

Interactive installations first, enterprise platforms after
  1. 2009 – 2012

Computer Science, then a first job in insurance

Bachelor of Computer Science (Application Programming & Web Development), Taylor's University, RMIT-affiliated. Silver award at Malaysia Technology Expo 2012 for FThat, an Android location and messaging app. Then four months as a software engineer at Allianz Malaysia, Java and SQL on core insurance systems.

  2. 2012 – 2018

    FrameMotion Studio — interactive experiences

Client-facing project coordinator who also owned the in-house development team: scoped, priced and delivered 20+ interactive applications, mobile apps, websites and event systems. Microsoft Kinect, projection mapping, kiosks, RFID.

Star Trek: The Starfleet Academy Experience · 2016 — RFID visitor registration and 20+ interactive stations.
Malaysia Pavilion, World Expo Astana · 2017 — interactive experiences for the national pavilion.
Negaraku Expo, Dataran Merdeka · 2017 — interactive installations for a public national exhibition.
  3. 2018 – now

    Dynamic Worklabs — Doctrix

Joined an enterprise content-management platform already in production and kept extending it for eight years: single sign-on with Microsoft Entra ID, Adobe Sign and DocuSign, embedded Superset dashboards, directory sync, licence failover. Deployment, go-live and upgrades for clients including an Islamic bank and a listed pharmaceutical group. A year hands-on with DOMO as the company's reseller.

  4. 2025 – 26

    AI, added without a rewrite

An in-process AI engine over six LLM providers with cost telemetry and field verification, and Doctrix Capture Studio, a template OCR product that replaced ABBYY and Kodak Capture Pro. See the diagrams ↑
